In honor of all the wonderful friends I have that are mothers, I am dedicating today's blog to you! My own mother was a piece of work and every sense of the expression. Funny, creative, outrageous and difficult, life with mom was always an adventure. She died when I was quite young, in fact she was a year younger then I am now. It was a troublesome time and my mother was sick for many years before succumbing to the ravages of alcoholism. It was awhile before I could see the good that was in my mom and that she gave to me.Her talent as an painter instilled in me a love for all that is beautiful. She taught me how to cook and how to love food. She also taught me how to garden which has proven to be an obsession that has given me a great deal of joy over the years. I see her in me more and more, something that probably frightened me in my youth now gives me reason to be grateful. To all moms of all varieties, you are what keeps this world loved. Thank you.
