I Think I Can

I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking. I haven't always been that way.In fact just the opposite. I spent a great deal of my life thinking and expecting the worst to happen and may times it did. I struggled to find the magic that would make me feel good and in most cases it would end up making me feel worse then I did when I started. The more I pushed the harder I fell. There isn't any neat and tidy story on how all of this changed for me. It was a slow and in most cases painful process. I hung on for dear life not wanting to see what was so simple. Each time  I placed faith in something, no matter how small or insignificant, miracles happened. The more I believed something would work out, the more it did.It was an easy equation and has proven to be the best approach so far in my life. I don't fool myself into thinking that I have some special gift or power, not at all.I have just chosen to let go of the vice grip that held me hostage for so many years.  So why is it so hard to remember?
Human nature. It is easier to find what is wrong with your life then what is right. It is a greater challenge to look at a situation and find a way to make it better.Plain and simple. I invite you to use these positive thoughts, pick one, try one on for size and see if you feel a difference. I know you will and I think I can.
I was reminded of two quotes that I really enjoy, the first by Woody Allen  who said, "If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans" and a quote by Paulo Coelo,"If you are brave to say good-bye, life will reward you with a new hello."
